Review on Idea Display 3840X2160 1XDisplayport Frameless 32", High Dynamic Range, by Richard Williams

The Idea Display Q32P 32" IPS 4K UHD gaming monitor is overpriced and HDR useless. The display quality for office work and programming is only acceptable after adjusting the settings. Once adjusted correctly, the colors are strong, but the contrast can wash out fine details .There are issues when using the USB-C and HDMI inputs at the same time. The bezels are very thin and the monitor looks quite nice. The monitor stand doesn't offer much stability but is easy to attach and remove. Unsuitable for anything other than watching videos , and even then it's not very good.. Plugging my Samsung Note20 Ultra into the USB-C socket broke my HDMI connection to my laptop and I couldn't switch back without disconnecting my phone and then the monitor from my laptop and then plug it back in. I have no idea what other USB inputs are for, the physical controls are horribly poor and will Drive you crazy when you try to adjust anything. That makes parameter setting much easier in. Unfortunately, the menu system is ugly, inconvenient and outdated. The inputs are located on the bottom of the monitor and are difficult to access as they all face down. It's almost impossible to tell when the monitor is on because the LED indicators are on the back of the monitor. The monitor seems to turn off very quickly when it can't detect an input, making it difficult to use the remote control. The default display quality is poor: dark, with low contrast and a red cast. With a little tweaking, the image quality can be improved to an acceptable level. There are no instructions included with the monitor. The online manual is very skimpy, pointing out that the panel type is TFT and not the more expensive IPS claimed by Revain. The contrast is also specified as 1000:1 instead of 1300:1 as specified by Revain. I regret buying the Q32P 32" IPS 4K UHD gaming monitor as there are better monitors available from reputable companies like LG that are cheaper. Particularly disappointing is that the HDR is unusable and the USB-C input lacks the HDMI Connection overrides so you can't use both at the same time.
