You need a 9v battery for it to work.
At first I thought this thing wasn't working because when I turned off the power it just made a little beep. After 9v was installed it worked fine. The description said you need a 9V battery, but it's easy to miss and there are no instructions. After the battery was installed and the device turned off, the alarm was very loud. If it stays ok I'll get a second one for our freezer. Only 4 stars because there are no instructions included.
