You can easily insert the wire into the channel using the gaps at the top and bottom. If desired, you can thread it through the provided holes in the top and bottom to route the wire in and out of the conduit. Note that if you use a wire of a different color than black it may be visible through the front notch when viewed from the front unless the wire is taut and directed towards the rear of the stand. If I were just judging the price it would be 5 stars but considering other points it's a solid 4. They look very good and the woman agrees with the aesthetics!
