I have to say this item was very strong and well built but not easy to move at all. it does not rotate and does not raise or lower (for height adjustment). To be honest the design for the price seems to me to be better. It's difficult to use in bed (you can't get up or lie down with it easily) and it's not wide enough to use for a laptop, iPad, or for eating. Suitable as a side table. I think this is advertised incorrectly. This is a glorified side table and also difficult to use on a sofa that has the center post between the legs. The thumbscrew is in a hard-to-reach place, so you have to get up and walk behind it to adjust it. then sit down and see if everything is ok, if not you have to get up and do it again.
