Review on Schwinn Balance Toddler Bikes: 12-Inch Wheels for Beginner Rider Training in Multiple Colors by Erik Peterson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

After riding a balance bike, my 2y7mo rides a regular pedal bike. It works!

My kids (2 and 4) haven't ridden this bike in a day. My 4 year old used it for 3 weeks then switched to a regular bike and mastered it in 3 days. Nobody could believe a four-year-old on a regular bike with no training wheels. Thanks to the runner. My 2.5 is now flying on a balance bike but not ready to pedal on a regular bike yet. Many neighbors and many friends bought balance bikes after seeing our kids. The stranger stopped and asked about it. I would choose the Schewnn brand over other brands because it's a heavier bike which seems to help with balance. Never use training wheels! Trust the balance bike to transition to a regular bike, then pedal back and forth until your child is ready. Don't forget that they need to pump up their muscles to pedal, so be patient. Coordination and readiness vary from child to child. By the way, according to my research, balance is great for brain development. Additional review: My 2y7mo now rides a normal pedal bike, of course without training wheels. This balance bike has a heavier frame which I think helps with balance and also mimics a real bike which is typically not as light as some balance bikes on the market. If your child is about to transition from a balance bike to a regular bike, I would also recommend getting a 12" (17") bike with a lower seat for my 93cm son. And make sure the bike is not stretched as you would like to get the child back into an upright position. I would also recommend an aluminum frame if possible or at least under 20lbs to not put as much stress on the muscles and joints of young children .It can help uphill too!.Very happy with my product We bought another Schwinn for the holidays!
