Buy something like this in place of your regular "PC speaker "

This is a really solid buy for folks on a budget but if you can afford to go in the $100 or $150 range come, I would recommend it. of the more expensive Edifier options. I'm by no means a music lover, but I do like audio devices, so take all of this with a grain of salt. Pros: Clear, powerful sound that doesn't distort if you keep it below 75% volume. Great for movies and shows, solid. for gaming - wide enough to hear sounds not typically found on low-end speakers - nice looks, especially with open drivers - GENUINE @logitech tweeters, they beat the crap out of any budget speaker from PC- Peripheral brands - easy to wall mount power supply, RCA to 3.5mm and cables between two speakers - all cables are long enough for use on a long table - a good all-in-one solution for those who need less than 100 euros and don't want to buy a separate amplifier - Sounds even better with DACCons: - Rather hideous distortion at maximum volume - I'd rather have a speaker that can't reach that volume than one that can but sounds terrible, if he does. This isn't a huge downside, however, as it gets quite loud before it starts to distort - The volume control is on the rear, which is particularly annoying while adjusting - Mids can feel a bit recessed and are replaced by lower frequencies - Not as balanced as I want it. like them, but they're inexpensive, so it's hard to complain - very low hiss when nothing is playing, but you won't notice it unless your ear is inches from the driver. After all, they definitely get the job done and are a great place to start. speakers but if you have more to spend then it's definitely worth buying something better. However, I've had them for a few months now and don't feel the need to replace them, which bodes well for a picky tech shopper like me.
