Buy something like this in place of your regular "PC speaker "

This is a really solid buy for folks on a budget but if you can afford to go in the $100 or $150 range come, I would recommend it. of the more expensive Edifier options. I'm by no means a music lover, but I do like audio devices, so take all of this with a grain of salt. Pros: Clear, powerful sound that doesn't distort if you keep it below 75% volume. Great for movies and shows, solid. for gaming - wide enough to hear sounds not typically found on low-end speakers - nice looks, especially with…

Good bang for your buck.

Hello, overall I am satisfied with these speakers. Being a professional musician I wanted to give only 3 stars because of the frequency response. The lowest frequency is 70Hz according to the specs and you can hear the difference with a high-end speaker that would drop down to inaudible frequencies. However, I chose this product because of the fact that the cabinets are actually made of wood (which I find to be a much better choice than any plastic or synthetic material), the size, the fact…

This is probably the only self powered bookshelf speaker set I've tried in a long time that hasn't failed on a channel since first use. Both speakers still work without turning off the passive side (the one without the built-in amplifier). I hope they never get that flaky. The sound is good and the playback is close. The highs are quite crisp, the basses seem firm enough and the mids seem reasonably clear. The gain seems good enough and they can be loud if you like. It's not a high-end set of…

Slightly better than Logitech up to the Z533 series or so

*Note. The terminals are designed for cables up to 14 ga. Not that it's necessary for this low-power, near-field setup. Just a note. And the included cable is only about 18 ga. So these things are hard to pin down, there's a lot of good and bad that for $60 you have to consider real studio monitors or hi-fi speakers are 6 times the price. to get started usually. My review also comes from the standpoint of using them for computer desk speakers at work versus two other pre-built 2.1 systems I've…
