I have been using this reservoir for several months now with both pleasure and discomfort. When living under the tyranny of the sun, the ideal is to have both plenty of water and a reliable way to transport that water. This product does a really good job with the former; With a capacity of 3 liters I can (sometimes) enjoy long hikes with water. The tank itself makes a well-made and durable impression. The hose is a decent length and is wrapped in a sleeve that both protects against abrasion and insulates. The color offered a good contrast to my setup. It's easy to fill and the bite valve is easy to operate with a useful dust cap. This may sound like the start of a solid product review; However, the biggest weakness in my experience is the quick-link output port. This tank has two quick connectors; one between the bite valve and the hose and the other between the hose and the reservoir itself. Quick Link is an easy way to quickly connect hoses to a tank. Take it easy, take it easy, and that's where I got hurt. My wanderings would somehow find a way to solve the second version quite easily. Regardless of the orientation or setup (I really tried to get this to work), there was always a chance of failure. The reservoir prevents leakage entirely, but the water contained in the snorkel will run down your back and/or soak into the contents of your bag (although nice in the summer, not in the cold). In fact, the quick connect worked so well that she would sometimes reconnect/disconnect in a cycle that repeated her injury; Sometimes it was difficult for me to drink, then I didn't want to. Then I would. Then I wouldn't. Then I feel my back until the contents of my bag are wet. i would check it out No leaks. Then I would doubt my sanity. Crazy. I know, but this makes me lose a dangerous amount of water. I only found out through experimentation and observation, and of course knowing I wasn't able to sweat that much. To sum it up, Camelbak 100 Ounce Mil-Spec Antidote Reservoir hit the spot for me. Structurally sound, except for the quick connect feature, it was near perfect. Future iterations should make the release smaller and harder to suppress. When it worked, it worked beautifully. By running this product alone, incidents have been reduced to a minimum. If this is your way of carrying, this product may be more suitable for your needs. That said, if you're like me and want something more in your setup, I'll look elsewhere, well. I will look elsewhere. I hope other customers have had better experiences than me, as it sucks to have to delve into an organized setup to fix a stubborn problem like this. Doing the same thing in Phoenix, Arizona, only to be greeted with "Hydrate or Die" on a tank meant to hold the water you need is worrisome.
