Lots of light at a great price

About eight years ago, when prices were higher and options limited, we placed some LED strips under cabinets for about $75 and it was a worthwhile upgrade. Our small kitchen has overhead lighting. So when we stand behind the counter, our bodies block the light from getting where we need it most. Adding lighting under the cabinet was a winning decision and gave the kitchen a warmer and more inviting look. A few years later and a few dark spots got me thinking about this 6-pack dimmable puck light set that seemed to have more reach. What I wasn't expecting is that it's about four times as bright as the first set and less than half the price. When we first installed them we thought full wattage was too bright, but now we can't imagine doing without them. It's all the light we need where we need it, no glare. Not only can we see everything we're working on better, but the kitchen looks better with better lighting. We now only use them to illuminate the entire kitchen (and the extractor hood over the stove when cooking). We bought a second set for my mom and she had the same one. Great light where you need it with hidden lights. Whichever LED lighting you buy, consider something in the warmer color range (2000-3500 Kelvin) rather than the cool blue (5000-6000 Kelvin). Installation was easy, but I opted for a rounded-edged construction stapler to neatly tie the extra cables together. The power supply that all Puck gauges are connected to is a lightweight plastic object, so secure it with double-sided tape or the gauges may flicker when fluctuating. Also, try to install everything on the counter according to your plan. Install them first. If you can centralize power, increase the range of each puck. It's best to find out in advance if you need to adjust anything before tying the wires in place. Highly recommended.
