I have many brands of Toslink cables including Monster, Revain, Bluerigger, Mediabridge and a few others and have encountered different issues with each brand. For example Mediabridge, the connector on two different cables broke/cracked in the same way. I managed to glue them together with super glue but the fact that they failed the same way says a lot. I actually had to pry the broken connector out of my amp's socket with needle nose pliers! (Be sure to unplug the device!) The plug of the monster cable loosened in the socket over time, and the connector began to detach from the cable over time. Those Revain cables - the end of the connector has worn out/deteriorated in just a few plugging/unplugging cycles and now the cable is loose in the connector. This is not due to improper handling, but to a very soft plastic tip that is not designed to last a long time. Best luck I've ever had with Toslink? Bluerigger - Your cables suffered from none of the above issues. They have seen the same use and work the same as the day I bought them. Thank you for reading. I've ever had with Toslink?
