My mother's 2002 Tahoe stopped working at fan speeds 1 and 2. Only 3-5 worked. Everyone says that this is often caused by the resistance of the fan motor. Access panel removed and checked. The original part number was 15305077. From what I've read this is a new replacement part for that part number. One weird thing about installing this new part is that it looks like you are putting it in backwards. Old part installed. As far as I can tell it only fits properly in one case so you can't go wrong. After inserting it, I had to rotate the 7-pin wire harness 180 degrees to connect it to the new resistor's connector. After installation, the fan works great! All 5 speeds work fine and speed 5 seems better than before. But that could be because I changed the cabin filter at the same time. It's a good idea while you're there. One thing to be aware of is that the wire harness and connector sometimes get hot and burn if something goes wrong. In my case, all of the wires and pins in the connector looked normal with no burn marks, so I didn't have to mess with them. However, if they are blown, you should get a new wire harness/connector and replace it at the same time.
