I am very impressed with this product. They are more effective than multicolor/multigrain packs and I needed these. I have used them to clean the oil pan surfaces and also to clean the corresponding cylinder block and flywheel pan surface on an old 1930's car. They removed everything from rust to gasket material and everything in between. They last quite a long time which impressed me, but if you catch an edge they wear out quickly. I also used them on the head of an old car to polish them. When polishing I used this and then multicolored/sanding packs to get a nice shine. I used them on the surface of the block where the head gasket makes contact to get a nice clean surface. I also used them to clean the cylinders of an inline 8 engine. I worked to free the motor as it was seized and rusted. I took them on my dremel to clean the cylinder walls that I could reach. This helped a lot because once it started to loosen and the piston rings got on the cleaned surface it really started to move freely! engine saved! I highly recommend these buffs!
