Review on Men's Merrell Jungle Waterproof Slip-On Loafers in Gunsmoke - Shoes for Superior Comfort and Style by Juan Mcallen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Now better fit, very stiff sole

After receiving them for the first time, I wrote that "slippers" are too misinterpreted as "easy to put on" - they are not easy to put on. That's how it was when they were new and I wore an athletic sock. In those early days, the top of my foot ached from the pressure. However, after about a week and then putting on the socks, I can say that they fit very well. I was most impressed wearing them on a horrible night in the rain as these shoes spent many seconds allowing water to run down the toes and they remained waterproof. Very impressive. I'm still not a fan of soles and that's the only reason I'm not giving five stars. When walking, the soles seem to be very narrow. I feel like I'm walking on a narrow bar and they also have a very firm feel of almost zero spring in the stride, which isn't great for walking on sidewalks or streets, but maybe that wasn't the intention. Like those who buy a 4x4 and never leave the pavement, but it's just fine if you go "off-road."

Pros
  • These are the most comfortable shoes I have. They are especially good during the cold months.
Cons
  • Shoes can creak when walking.
