Fur. Not a fan. in Phones & Accessories

Bought these to replace my 15 year old Panasonic phone which is finally starting to wear out. The sound quality is not very good, the volume is bad, the batteries in the kit are only 300 mAh. The caller ID announcement, the main reason I bought this device, is annoying in that it doesn't even pronounce simple names very well, and unless you enter an incoming phone number into your phone book function, for example, it just says it "WLAN participant" is not the phone number of the incoming call. I don't like the female robot voice. The earbud is flat and the speaker is tiny, making it difficult to find the "best place" to listen. The volume isn't loud enough in either normal or speakerphone modes, and I don't have any hearing issues; anyway, most things are too loud for me. I didn't set up the autoresponder part because after reading the manual I know my old one is better and still works fine so I'm still using it. I haven't tried the cell phone part, but I've never been very happy with Bluetooth. I didn't buy for that. I like the lighter weight of the phones, but unfortunately they also feel fragile and are made from quality materials. The same goes for charging pads, which you don't want to put where the wind will blow them away. The phone book works better than my old ones and the screen is easier to see when it's backlit. When it goes back to idle it's unreadable to me (the old ones were the same). The lack of message waiting or incoming call indicators on phones or charging indicators on charging cradle is another downside. When you charge the phone it makes a little beep, but when you press it and it disconnects from charging it's impossible to tell - no warning beep, no display. There are many things I don't like and not only what I do but I'm tired of writing. I paid $50 for a set of 4 phones at Warehouse Deals and can't find a fault anywhere. I received the black ones and they look ok. Functionally they are not worth it. If I had paid more I would have sent them back immediately. So sad. Panasonic's have long been the best cordless phones, but not this one.
