I bought this set of brackets to use with 2x4 oak boards for greater strength than pine boards. It was impossible to use these mounts without significantly planing the 2x4 boards (making the boards weaker). After working on another mounting option for about 3-4 hours, we did this work by cutting the PCB, not the 2x4 board. Just make the right size brackets and save your customers the hassle. When we're worried about our safety, the last thing we want to do is start a woodworking project.
