As with most round brushes, it's difficult to find one that doesn't pull out tough 4c hair. This brush was better than the Spornette Touche boar bristle brush I ordered (Link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002SIT1C), but both of them still pulled my hair a lot. I have tried this brush on dry hair and 4c wet hair. In both cases, I had to detangle my hair (to the point where I could pull a small-toothed comb through it) before I could use this brush. For blow drying, it would be good to wrap the hair to dry WITHOUT moving the brush through the hair (i.e. mostly sections at a time). I would use this brush on pre-stretched, pre-detangled wet hair for hair type 4c. Hope this review helps :)
