Good for long falls to the ground
When our storm door is opened there is quite a bit of transition/drop onto the pavement in the fully open position. While there is a cylinder door closer on the door that is supposed to hold the door open, the reality is that is the weak link and I've been through two of those already. Rather than buying another one and seeing it fail again, this provided a nice simple solution to keeping the door open, which is sometimes necessary. It's long enough to get things done. Short ones just don't fit.
