I've been using the watch for a few days now and overall I'm very happy with it. It is a good size and fits my wrist well. The functionality is excellent for the money. I don't sleep with it but I wear it all day for 3 days and it still works 91%. At this rate I think I can easily go over a week, maybe two, on a single charge. The biggest issue is the total lack of instructions on how to do anything with this watch. Inside the box is a small booklet in multiple languages that explains how to top up, download the app, and pair. That's all. Nothing to tell you how to use features, how to change settings, nothing. So I will try to highlight some of them here. I came across a PDF document for Amazfit Bip S on the internet that describes some things that I couldn't figure out on my own. That was on bcebo's dot com, so google is your friend. The always-on function is good. I would like the brightness to be adjustable for this. You can adjust the brightness of the clock when it's "on", but not for permanent display. What a shame. It's easy to see from the outside, but inside I can only see the time. You can swipe in all 4 directions on the home screen to access various controls. There are several different watch faces stored on the watch and there are many more in the application that you can use. Swipe up to get notifications. Below for a small panel showing power, time, date, brightness control, screen lock, do not disturb and a music control shortcut. I don't know why the latter is there as you can swipe left to go to the music controls instead. . IMPORTANT: You must allow access to SMS, otherwise the watch will not be able to see your music. It took me forever to figure that out. I blocked access to SMS and he couldn't see my music. Once turned on it was able to see and control my music, but first I need to run it on my phone. I have seen various apps listed as correct for various Amazfit watches. I used the Q code on my watch face and got into the "ZEPP" app. That also requires work. Poorly. This goes against common sense. TIP: If you want to change your watch settings in the ZEPP app, click the "Profile" button below. Your watch should be listed under My devices. Click on it and you will be taken to the settings page. The app can also act as a workout tracker, but it's hidden. I stumbled upon this by accident. There are 3 buttons at the bottom of the main page. Homepage, Enjoy, Profile. There is a small gray stripe just above it. This is a wipe bar. Lifting it reveals some settings and tools for tracking walking, running and cycling. I went for a walk at the same time with this app and Runkeeper and they matched the distance, time and route perfectly. But Runkeeper gave me 100 calories for a walk and Zepp gave me 200. I trust Runkeeper more. So I would use Zepp to measure distance and time, but not to count calories. Basically I am satisfied with the watch. For $50 it's pretty amazing. But I had to give it 1 star because both the watch and the app are hard to decipher and I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't take the time to explore their potential. If they included good instructions for both the watch and the app this would easily be a 5 star article.
