This card just saved me a month of frustration with a different brand USB card. This card works with all 4 ports connected and easily transfers data between Seagate/Western Digital Drives. I finally tested the data transfer all night and it still works at USB 3.0 at full speed. woo-hoo. I've just spent the last month using a different brand USB stick which has been an absolute nightmare. Another brand doesn't work with more than 2 drives connected, with 3 I had random dropouts, drives disappeared, data transfer issues etc and I even forgot to try 4. All along I blamed Seagate USB drives They suck, but can you believe it was another brand of USB stick all along? What a nightmare and waste of time. Anyway, it works fine for me on a Dell Poweredge R720. I need stability because I'm constantly storing and moving very large amounts of data (over 5TB per day) and I can't believe how lucky I am that I can connect 4 USB sticks and transfer data at the same time without a data dropout. Wow. According to the device manager, the chipset is a VIA chipset. When I tried to read the label on the actual chip I actually thought it was called VLI, but device manager shows it as a VIA chipset for those wondering. I don't know why I'm happy that I can connect 4 drives to a 4-port USB stick, but I'm perfect!
