I have tested several lithium batteries (18650, 14500) and several NIMH, AA, AAA batteries. The negative post is a little higher on some types of AAA batteries so you may have to raise it up a bit to start charging depending on which AAA batteries you have, but that was a very minor issue. Otherwise it worked perfectly. You can set the lithium battery charging speed (0.5A, 1A, 2A) and it will respond accordingly within the input current and smart charge chip. For example, a really, really low battery will charge very slowly until it reaches a safe voltage. When the battery is almost fully charged, the charging current will decrease accordingly. In other words, setting it to a higher value will not override security features or drain your batteries. He will only charge the increased rate if he can safely do so. That being said, it has no way of knowing what size battery you're loading. So if you were charging a tiny 14500 or even 10500 battery, if I were you I wouldn't set it to the full 2 amps, just leave it at 0.5. Basically, I leave it at 0.5 anyway, because the battery is better charged slowly. But if you are in a hurry, you can of course increase it. Overall a great purchase.
