I switched to them after two pairs of flimsy, but good-sounding (for my 900r) Ritmix RH-508. M40x is much more convenient. Next, I note that I turned off all sorts of "improvers" of the sound from Creative (I use the X-fi Xtreme Gamer card), they no longer need it - I use only the equalizer. Further, the choice was also due to the fact that it is possible to disconnect and change cables (M20x and M30x do not have this option). I use a coiled cable because I listen with headphones 95% of the time at my computer, so I don't need long cables. The spiral cable stretches without problems to the declared length, which allows you to calmly get up from the table without removing your headphones. Rhythmics were ruined precisely because of the long cable, which got tangled under the feet and the chair on wheels. At some point, getting up from a chair turned out to be fatal for them. I am very pleased with the sound of the M40x. I listen mostly to all kinds of metal. The sound in films and games also does not cause me any complaints as an ordinary user.
