I use a vacuum sealer all the time. I buy beans and rice in bulk and vacuum seal them to keep them fresh. I freeze meat in vacuum bags. Everything that can become stale is vacuumed. Since I use it so often I bought these reels to save money. The only good thing about them is that they are quite thick. But they constantly lose their tightness and need to be replaced. I have to periodically check everything I've sealed in them to make sure they're sealed, and more often than not they aren't. I recently rearranged my freezer and found so many packs of meat that had lost their seal and were causing freezer burn. From now on I only buy real Food Saver rolls.
