I don't want to repeat all the positive reviews so just read the following tips to dispel some myths/questions. This device is not waterproof! I contacted the manufacturer and they confirmed that this was the cause of the button failure. Despite the fact that the instructions say DO NOT WASH, people still wash. THE COMBS ARE PLASTIC, but certainly not cheap plastic, and they work great - don't pull on my hair or irritate my skin, but I haven't. I've tried trimming my long beard, all I have is stubble. Check the sizes to see if you can do without them. If you need more sizes or a lot of custom sizes, you need a trimmer with an adjustable head. It is NOT difficult to clean and does not require much time. You just have to take out the blades and use the brush to clean them and the trimmer inside. It takes a minute or two to fully clean the device and lubricate the blades after each use. This is a professional trimmer that, like any other tool, requires constant and proper care. If you don't have 2 minutes besides cutting, get up 2 minutes earlier or go to bed 2 minutes earlier. I can't understand the complaints about how long it takes to clean - POWERFUL trimmer, it cuts through my beard and hair like a hot knife through butter! Braun's previous device struggled with both. LEAVES are amazing! Sharp and thin. It fits well in my hand and is comfortable to use. UPDATE: A year later, the blades are as sharp as new! I think I've only charged it 4-5 times over the course of a year, trimming coarse stubble every 3-4 days and trimming my whole head 1-2 times a month. I had to charge my old Braun device every 2nd or 3rd week at the same rate of use and the blades on it started pulling like crazy after a few months. Not on this device. In any case, the sharpness can be reduced by 2-4% in the worst case. This is really a professional tool. I don't think I want to try anything else after this experience. The manufacturer's warranty and support are also top-notch. Where is the 6th star here?
