bowl was delivered complete. My bearded dragon hasn't eaten since I bought it and we've tried many different methods to get him to eat. Nothing succeeded! But! As soon as the bowl got into his zone and we filled it with Super Worms, he started eating! He loves the bowl and it keeps all the creepy crawlies in place when he's ready to eat. So far we've only filled it with superworms and roaches, but I'm sure this will keep most other insects in place as well. The bowl is very strong - sometimes our bearded man just lies down in the bowl and chews on his worms. As a baby he just fits in but soon it will be the perfect size feeder. Some of the other reviews said there were shipping issues, but my item arrived a day before it was supposed to be delivered. and there were no defects. If you are looking for a great reptile food at a great price. This is for you!
