Review on AMD Athlon II X2 270 Regor 3.4 GHz Socket AM3 Dual-Core Processor – Retail ADX270OCGMBOX: High-Performance Desktop CPU with Dual Cores and 2x1 MB L2 Cache by Tawan Rungthip ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A very high-quality product, I take it not for the first time.

In the recent past, a happy owner of AMD Athlon II x2 265 on AM3 socket. During the upgrade, it was replaced by a six-core. With dual-channel memory and a graphics card, the GTS 450% provided comfortable gameplay in current titles until the mid-2022s, not to mention more trivial tasks; pulled a variety of CAD software without problems. In recent years, of course, it has become worse to cope - after all, the lack of an L3 cache makes itself felt. The stone worked for over 9 years. Well, it's understandable - a non-defective processor usually has an impressive MTBF. At the moment, this is a cheap dual-core on the secondary, which you can buy for a modest computer on the element base of already outdated AM2 + / AM3 sockets. But paying tribute to quality is a sacred thing. If someone wants to concoct a super-cheap PC to meet the minimum requirements of penny components - then perhaps the dual-core Athlone can still fit for such a purpose. Otherwise, it is a good stone of its time, which has already become history.

Pros
  • At least these: - DDR3 support; - the possibility of overclocking (if necessary); - price-quality ratio; - relatively low heat generation.
Cons
  • In general, two: AVX and some other instructions were not delivered - not all toys start up and there is no L3 cache yet, like on all members of the family. But for your money at that moment - consider no.

Great value for money processor

Its pros: quite smart, not hot, quiet boxed cooler. With its cons: one die per 2 cores, one thread per core, separate L2 cache.

Has pros: Price, good performance, good overclocking potential, which is very important for AMD, 45nm technology pleases! Has some cons: cache 512 instead of 1024 on the core, but I don't really understand processors.

Pros: Price, low heat generation, good performance. Got cons: Let the snickering bourgeois look for flaws!

Pros: Good percent. much better than the old A64x2 Brisbane, in some tasks Everest460 has a 1.5-2x advantage. Quite competitive with the E6300. Cons: Didn't work on MB MSI 7250 NF570U with ated bios. Upgrading the old system will not work, but for the new one you need something more serious.

There was a difficult choice between this (260+) processor and the Celeron G540. I settled on AMD because of the best gaming performance and have no regrets. I think that at approximately the same cost, the Intel Pentium G620 is still better

With its pros. Price, smart, not heated, unpretentious Cons below: what could be the disadvantages for such money? No more 8 cores?

After installing this processor, for example, in a board Gigabyte GA-780T-D3L everything began to fly twice as fast as on a slightly older mat. board like asus m4a77td.

Its pros: Price, bought [oem] for 1600, quite smart, high clock speeds, fairly good overclocking. Got cons: Yes, for such a price they simply do not exist, paired with the HD5670 everything works fine.

Some pros: Price, this processor was purchased for 2550. Excellent overclocking potential, quite cold. Has cons: Well, for a minus, you can write the absence of a cache of level 3, although for such a price . You can't find a better one.
