Some of the reviews on it have been mixed - good and bad. I have a 15.5" Sony Vaio notebook. Their laptops are notorious for overheating so when I got my laptop in 2006 I bought 2 Targus PA248U2 cooling pads. One for each of my Vaio laptops. Got them from BestBuy for about got that price as i don't remember they were expensive otherwise i would have declined that price as you can see in the picture it has 2 fans and cools both laptops great my old vaio overheated a lot more than the new one that did is not so new in its 5 years However, this cold comrade is The bottom of the cooling pad is strong, so you can put the mat on your lap and put your laptop on it. There are 6 tiny solid legs (at the corners and in the middle of the top and bottom .The fan works quietly) I've had both mats for 5 years now.I sold my old Vaio laptop over 2 years ago so I'm using the other one as a spare.Love the fact that the fan only power from your laptop and doesn't need another outlet to power it, but you have 1 less USB port so if you have 2 you only have 1 left. For the first 4 years my laptop was always on and my Targus cooling mat was on all the time and it worked great. No complaints. But since 5 years the fan doesn't work so well, and I buy another cooling mat. One of my cooling mats is working fine, but the other is barely running out of power. I need to keep my laptop cool and for the price it's really good. I rarely put my laptop on my lap and it's on my desk most of the time. I don't use a laptop keyboard, I have an external wireless keyboard so that helps. If you need a cooling pad to level your laptop on, this cooling pad isn't for you. However, if your laptop is mostly on the table then that's fine.
