After reading the instructions, this coat was easy to put on and adjust, and while I didn't wash it, I assume it washes the same way a Thunder shirt would. Louie just isn't suited for this kind of therapy. However, we have had good luck with other dogs using compression shirts. We had an older dog who was scared of cars and didn't particularly like vet visits, but once he put on a compression shirt he really felt better. We're starting to use it with our 6 year old Australian for her fear of thunderstorms and fireworks and while it's not a miracle cure, along with a noisy fan, it helps ease her anxiety.
