Update January 7, 2020: After trial and error I found that I need the size XL. The big one fits me. However, I had another pair of gloves that were larger for me but kept me a lot warmer and no matter how much I was sweating I could still put the gloves on after I took them off because there was room to give. I also find the air in the glove warm. So I switched. I'm happier now. I would recommend getting one size bigger. I know this may seem risky, but that's just my story. Oh, and yes, it's definitely rain and snow proof! I bought three finger mittens because I ride my bike all year round, even in cold weather. In NYC, I'm cautious and keep 3 fingers on the brakes in case the pedestrian isn't looking for approaching bikes, which happens 99% of the time. I keep the OK sign (index finger and thumb on the steering wheel for stability). I have worn gloves once so far in cold weather and I have to say they keep my hands and fingers very warm. I'm sweating a little. So I'm waiting for really cold temperatures (below 30 F) to use these 3 finger mittens. I haven't rated the water resistance yet as it hasn't rained or snowed. But I'll update mine to check again if this is the case. I like the loop at the end of the glove, I hang it on a makeshift hook on the door so I don't lose it.
