are very bright and flicker like a real flame. When assembled, the cable from the battery to the light is about 1.5m long, giving you enough length to place the light and hide the battery. The connector that connects the battery to the flashlight is the same connector used for the 9 volt battery. Don't assume that because you have this connector you can use a 9 volt battery instead of 8 AA batteries. If you connect this light to a 9 volt battery you will burn it out. The bottom line for me is that they produce exactly the wrong flame I was looking for for my haunted dollhouse. And I'm thinking of putting some in one of my old fireplaces.
