Review on 🌿 Hemp Bedding for RentACoop by Stephanie Roberts

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best chicken manure I have found so far

The product is expensive but when I calculate how long it will last compared to pine shavings or chopped straw the price is about the same as there is no need to change hemp like that often. I've been using it for about 3 months now, others have been using it for a year with the original bedding. So far no smell after 3 months of use with 10 chickens in the barn, at least one portion from each. day at this time of year. The ammonia smell doesn't build up and it stays dry even though my chicken coop is on the ground and we've had a lot of rain. With other litters I have had to add food like sweet PDZ to keep the smell under control. So far I haven't added anything to the hemp and neither should I. The litter dries immediately. I like that it stays in place and doesn't fly into feeders and drinkers. It also does not migrate into the dust bath area. My chickens seem to like it too. I have 3 large bags of produce in an 8' x 12' area of my coop (the rest is sand under the perches and a large sand dust bathing area). I may add a 4th pocket as I like the litter to be deep, but that's not necessary at this point. I'm hoping the price will go down as more cannabis is grown in the US, but if it's in the last year or more I'll be happy! UPDATE AFTER 11 MONTHS: The original hemp litter is still in the stable. I added another bag and I'm still in good shape. Odorless, stays dry despite very rainy weather. I clean up the obvious feces at the end of each day, but a lot more gets into the linens. I'm buying a few more pouches because they've been around for a year now and I love the pen fresh, but I'm adding them to the old pen there's no reason to throw them away.
