As a moisture meter it's pretty accurate. But it doesn't come with a battery or interchangeable contacts. But the real reason for the single star is the completely fraudulent product description, which says the meter offers "calibration for about 50 species of wood." It doesn't provide "calibrations" for anything. It has an absurdly useless 'mode button' that gives you four options that supposedly relate to measuring moisture in different types of wood. But after testing the moisture meter on eight different types of wood, I found that changing the "mode" had absolutely no effect on the moisture reading. what you're paying for this useless activity, and you don't even have to worry about what "calibrating" the moisture content of a particular species of wood might entail.
