I had a project where I was installing a gas insert in my 64 year old brick and concrete chimney. I couldn't find a contractor to drill the 2.5" hole I needed, so I bought this drill bit and a Bosch hammer. I need to drill a hole almost 3 feet deep so I had to buy and lengthen this bit. That's great! It cuts through brick and concrete very well. I stopped in between to let it cool down as the concrete I was drilling into was very, very old and very hard. I have also tried to keep the vacuum cleaner cleaning the debris constantly, my theory is that reducing debris reduces friction and therefore reduces heat and thus increases tool life and efficiency.
