I bought this item because of COVID-19 and my son's hair was getting out of control. I'm not good with measurements so I used photos to guess the size of the scissors. Well these things are really small, about an inch long. In addition, hairpins almost did not allow to cut hair. There was no tension on the largest clip #4. We had to go down a size and move on to #3. Overall it did the job but it took forever BUT luckily we had scissors. I will not be returning it as I will likely need it again in a few weeks. I think it has no batteries and a 6ft cord.
