We bought these for our elderly English mastiff Loki who was starting to pull his paw (causing his claws to chafe and bleed) and slide across the tile and hardwood floors. These boots are useless for use on stairs or wet grassy hills, our dog fell down two flights of stairs in our split level (not necessarily because of the boots, Loki started on them very unsteadily) and slid down the hill in our backyard (the boots were the reason for this) ) They work well indoors on tile and wood while dry, and on the sidewalk for a paw that grinds. The construction feels good and solid, the sole of the boot is like rubber so waterproof, but the part that wraps the foot is not breathable and good for the summer heat.
