I used the cover for orphaned possum babies that I was rehabilitating. Possums don't suck or gnaw, but the curly fibers of their fur immediately began to shed. I even noticed fluffy balls in her poop! When I removed it I saw that small areas were exposed up to the mesh itself. It was very comfortable and they loved it. But I'm lucky they weren't blocked. I hope one day they develop a simple polar fleece cover that is safer for kids! Since babies use heating pads the most, I gave it one star. But for an older animal that has learned to eat and not eat, it can be great.
