Review on Kasa Smart LED Light Strip KL400L5: WiFi-enabled, Alexa & Google Home Compatible, 16.4ft Length, 16 Million Colors, RGB, Grouping, Adjustable, Long-lasting by Freddie Newton

I have tried several LED strips in the past and although I own several units from the Kasa family I have given up on them as they cost over $60 in my opinion. Now that they are in the $25 range I decided to give it a try. Wow what a joy! Other strips I've tried seem inadequate. colors are off The tape doesn't stick. Setup is a pain. Etc. None of these problems exist with Kasa strips! Let's start with the installation. It's a light breeze. You just peel off the backing and stick it in place. Most importantly, the tape appears to really stick to the strip! It might seem like a small thing, but I've had a few other strips that didn't get stuck. The actual installation couldn't be easier! As mentioned, I have other kasa products, so I already had the kasa app. I just had to "add device" and name it. The entire process took less than 60 seconds after I turned the strip on for the first time. From the application you can group devices together. For example I had 2 strips (one below the cabinets and one above them) which I named Cab1 and Cab2 and placed them in a group called "Cabinets". This allows me to control them all at once and sync colors and schedules rather than individually. Integrating with Alexa is easy too. In fact, I got the notification from Alexa that it found the light before I did the first firmware update. The light sources themselves are ideal. Colors and light just right. You can adjust any color using the app's impressive color wheel and have full control over the brightness levels. Preset effects are also available. For example, the "candy cane" alternates between red and white to create a festive mood. You can also create your own, although I haven't played with it yet. The only downside is that you can't connect 2 strands of light to the same controller, although I've had terrible luck with other strips that had that option. Buy more for the price! I should also mention that you can easily trim them if you want a shorter length. Overall I am VERY happy with these lights and have ordered 3 more sets to complete my kitchen. I highly recommend this item!
