I have an old AMD FX processor. I have a little acceleration. Nothing spicy. I used Antec Nano Diamond thermal paste with a decent Zalman air cooler. The pace was ok. But my computer is in a very dry and somewhat dusty environment. As a result, I take it apart and clean it about once a year to completely disassemble and reassemble. Usually around this time my thermal paste starts to dry out a bit. If it works almost as well as paste, it's worth it for the user-friendliness, reusability and environmental friendliness alone. Is it like this? Yes. Under light loads such as in everyday use or when surfing the web, it actually works better than traditional pasting in my use case. About the same if not slightly better under gaming loads. But plus or minus the error is about the same. Considering all the other pros, it's amazing to me. The fact that it exists and I never have to think about it again is awesome. If I ever upgrade or need access to my CPU, it's also reusable, I don't have to worry about cleaning or anything like that. I couldn't be happier. Pros: Easy to install, clean, reusable, eliminates potential "hot spots" as graphite is very good at transporting large amounts of heat across its surface. This basically spreads the heat more evenly across the entire surface of the pad, install it and forget it. Disadvantages: acquisition costs.
