I'm not sure if I've fitted them incorrectly, I followed the instructions and it holds up the bed, only 2 Complaints. And both could be related to how I installed them! Problem one - it seems very difficult to get them to start closing. Once they start, they compress slightly. The plywood sheet under the bed flexes a little when you push it to close, this is NOT a one handed process and for my wife or son who both weigh about 100lbs they almost have to crawl to close it. Problem two - they lower the bed. The lift is perfect, just what I was looking for and again this may be the setup causing my problems. Easy install is not the way to describe it, I'm pretty good at doing renovations, just finished 2 bathrooms in the house. Since I had to screw a couple of square blocks (included) to the bed platform, my son had to reach into the storage space under the bed to make sure the blocks came out of the frame when attaching. The instructions were pretty sparse, just a picture with two reference points where to mount the connecting brackets. Which leads to my statements above, they may not be installed properly which is causing the problems I'm having with them.
