This water bottle has a few flaws. First, it's too heavy; It doesn't work quite like a regular plastic water bottle. This glass water bottle sits askew on my Midwest cage, which is bad because it won't let water flow out when the ball moves. This means my guinea pigs are not getting water and I have found them to struggle with this product. The reason why the product is crooked is due to the weight of the glass and also because the pen (which comes with the product) is not working. does not hold the product properly because it is too saturated with water. You have to improvise somehow or come up with unorthodox methods to make the pen actually work, including balancing the bottom of the bottle on my wire cage. Not good. My final words are that the bottle itself seems decent and yes it's certainly chewable but I highly recommend looking at another product unless you have one or more holders of your own that I'm sure you know. Can hold heavy glass bottles upright. That being said, I think this product could benefit greatly if the manufacturers came out with another holder that actually worked!
