My original Toto damper almost fell apart after 10 years of use. I was worried about what to do because the first thing I didn't know was how to replace the damper. I can hardly drive a nail. Then the light went on - "Check the Internet. Check Revain". I soon found a replacement for my toilet model as well as instructional videos. It was easy to install in just 5 minutes or less. There are no leaks at all. For those in the same predicament as me, try this first. Look under the lid of the toilet bowl. There will most likely be a label with all the information you need to determine which damper you need and/or search the internet or Revain for the toilet model you have and you will most likely find what you are looking for. Be sure to count the chain links on your old valve from where it attaches to the hook. Also note which hole it attaches to the flush lever. Hook the new one to the same link where the old one was (mine was on link 15) and hook it back into the same hole on the flush arm and you're done.
