Okay, I know it looks like crap, but it works. I removed the lock from the mounting plate they include, and I fabricated a mounting plate so the lock fits inside the steel frame of the outdoor security gate. Had a few engineering miscalculations, but I got it. I was able to use this on my outdoor gate in my condo complex. Does not interfere with opening and closing the gate using the key or the latch. There is an outdoor outlet close by that I installed an all-weather enclosure to put the power supply and transmitter into to keep them nice and dry. Ran wire (some buried in the ground) over to the frame and up inside the hollow steel post. Soldered the wire to the contacts and protected them with heat shrink tubing. It's been working for over two weeks now with rainy cold weather. I ordered an additional two transmitters and programmed those in a jiffy. They have a long range and now I can let someone through the gate from inside.UPDATE: The weather was -2° and it worked just fine.
