Review on πŸ”’ Eikon Mini USB Fingerprint Reader for PC: Secure and Convenient Access Control by Mark Estrada

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works, but Amazon doesn't warn you that the software link is dead.

Working. The one I received was for Mac (ordered for PC but should work anyway) but the software for it listed on the back is no longer available. This reduces its use to ONLY fingerprint login. If you've been looking at this product and thought you could use it to log into your favorite websites with a swipe of your finger instead of having to remember all those passwords, you'll be disappointed. couldn't find anything in third party software to add this functionality. The design is weird too. If you look at it, you'll see a vertical sensor, so it looks like it could sit on your desk (perhaps attached with Velcro), and you slide your finger across it. No! You slide your finger across it horizontally so it becomes more of a clumsy, awkward finger movement that is often misconstrued because it moves and now quite requires it to be attached with velcro. All in all it's neat and with some work it can be a quick (if you can manage to work on the first or second swipe) and a secure way of logging in. Nothing more. , the driver will be installed by Windows 10.

Pros
  • Log in to Windows with your fingerprint
Cons
  • Slightly dented
