According to the description it holds 12 charger plates. It is not. 6 is probably the maximum capacity. So if you have 12 charger plates, buy 2 of them. Otherwise, this porcelain storage series is very good. I have over 20 for all types of china from plates of all sizes to mugs and glasses. I add further protection by placing the china in quilted storage bags first. If I were to ship them en route I would repackage my china in bubble wrap instead of just relying on boxes. The protectors that fit between the plates are fine, but I make my own protectors out of double-quilted fabric. This makes them bigger and a bit thicker. They are good for storing china to free up cabinet space while keeping the china clean and safe.
