Review on Nekteck Transparent Plastic Enclosure Adapter by Don Santos

I got this case because I thought a transparent case to see the disc in would be cool ie. the same reasons for the transparent side panels on the computer case. The light was a nice touch too, turning blue when plugged in and flashing red (producing purple) when data is being accessed. USB 3.1 Gen 2 (with Type-C connector) works great and the included cable connects securely to it. Transfer speeds are as expected: I inserted a 1TB Samsung Evo 860 drive and connected it to my computer's Thunderbolt 3 port and got 510MB/s write and 530MB/s read with the Atto test drive. This is the drive's maximum read/write speed, so USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10Gb/s) works as advertised. Note that I didn't use the SSD cache, in this case the read/write speeds increased to 6 and 8 GB/s (ie 10 GB/s = 1.25 GB/s). I mainly use this Drive+ case for data transfers when traveling, such as daily backups of my wife's photos and videos while she's on vacation, or just to transfer a lot of data in general. My previous 4 year old WD Elements 750GB HDD died prematurely right after the trip (no data loss thankfully) most likely due to shock so this SSD should fix that. This case also worked on my Mid 2017 MacBook Pro which has 4 USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports with similar read/write speeds. The only downside is that the plastic looks cheap (as you would expect from a cheap plastic toy) rather than a solid piece of plastic. The flat parts of the body flex slightly with moderate pressure. As others have pointed out, the "lid" is a bit easy to open (intentionally or accidentally). But for most of my use cases it's unlikely to open. Those two things aside, this is a good case.
