The connections were either too tight or too loose to allow for smooth adjustment and also not vibrate during movement. This is easily fixed by adding a couple of o-rings and replacing the one original o-ring that was crushed in both mirrors. (See photos of the ones I used.) I didn't take a picture of where to place them, but I did write it on the o-ring card. If it's adjustable after modification, it's like it's hydraulic, strong enough to stay in place but adjusting smoothly. I didn't care about the rubber strips for the clamping surface either. I was going to cut them and hot glue them to the clip but found some over 1 1/2 inch washers left over from the Traveler Light container mounting kit that created the perfect clip surface. (See another picture. To sum up, not a bad mirror as purchased but perfect with some minor tweaks.
