I chose between Aquael fan 3 plus and Aquael turbo 1000 (I had a positive experience with Aquael fan mini). But I wanted to get experience with a biofilter. I chose between them for a long time, compared, doubted . I have a 100 liter aquarium. I read reviews that the 500th Turbo model does not pull the sponge and biofilter to my volume very well over time, so I decided to take the Turbo 1000, especially since there is still a 200l aquarium. Some wrote that the filter is so powerful that it draws the fish . The smallest fish, Tetra Amanda, also live in my aquarium. I decided to take a chance, but I additionally purchased a maxi flute so that the aeration power would not blow away the inhabitants. And, lo and behold, I'm delighted! The filter is absolutely silent, it doesn’t drag any fish anywhere, you can’t hear the rain either, not a drop. Many write that after turning on the filter, the water becomes cloudy. If possible, do not remove the old filter from the aquarium, let the two filters work together for a week or two so that the nitrifying bacteria have time to settle on the new filter, then the water will not become cloudy and there will be no flash of nitrites / nitrates. If you still want to remove the old filter, then squeeze its sponge directly into the aquarium so that the beneficial bacteria remain in the water. It is advisable not to feed the fish for a couple of days to normalize the biobalance. Before turning on the Turbo, I washed the case with soda, and the biofilter filler and sponge under running water. I wish you an easy choice in your purchases!
