Review on πŸ“ Borden & Riley #234 Paris Paper for Pens Pad 9x12 - 108 lb, 40 White Sheets (1 Pad) by Hannah Curi

preferred paper

My favorite ink and marker paper. I tried different marker papers and settled on Parisian paper because of its ability to hold ink lines and how well it picks up marker ink. Some papers tend to be too absorbent, leading to ink build-up and possible sculpting. Borden and Rileys allow me to saturate an area and blend different hues without too much build-up. I wouldn't recommend it for colored pencils or graphite as it doesn't have teeth to speak of and it can be difficult to completely remove pencil lines. It's also not particularly thick like some Bristol boards, but thinner is better for ink and markers. at least for me. Please remember that these are my personal preferences and may not be to everyone's taste. Some people prefer to work with a surface that has some teeth or an off-white tint. In this case, it might be better to try a different paper.

Pros
  • Does not absorb moisture, smear, run or break fine lines
Cons
  • does not fade
