My cat didn't know what to do with it at first. She could not stand up with the harness attached to her. After not making any progress inside the house, we took it outside and put it on the patio. She took a few steps, but didn't really move much. I'm not sure if it was her dishes or the fact that she's never been outside. I think it was a combination of both. This is a well made harness and leash. However, it works a bit small. I ordered the medium because I thought it might be too big for my relatively small cat. It's actually too tight and pushes all of her fur back, making her look emaciated in the front and fat in the back. I don't think it's so tight that she's uncomfortable, so I'll keep experimenting with it.
