Review on 💾 Patriot Viper Elite Single Channel DDR4 PC Memory Module - 8GB, 2400MHz CL16, Grey by Raysean Forth

Excellent purchase! I bet it comes from the same pipeline as the much more expensive 3000+ rated versions of the Patriot, but maybe I just got lucky. It's very cheap but very good quality (see overclocking results), beautiful, has a black PCB and heatsink. Easily overclocks this RAM (2x4GB Dual Channel) to 2400/2666/2800/3000 on a Gigabyte z370M DS3H motherboard, which is one of the cheapest z370 boards and is paired with an i3-8350K @ 4.8GHz. By the way, although this is a good CL14, it can also work on CL13 at a frequency of 2133MHz. 3000MHz requires timings of 18 19 19 42 IIRC, I chose 2800MHz CL16 17 18 38 timings, but you'll have to figure out your own timings. Don't use XMP if you want to set your own timings (XMP only has 1 profile and automatically sets RAM to 2133 CL14), if you want to overclock and if you don't know what you're doing and don't mind the advertised base speed of 2133MHz (1066) CL14 works properly. If you have a fast processor, I would recommend overclocking it to at least 2666MHz to avoid data bottlenecks.
