This was a useful purchase on our trip. We were able to open it easily.There is the choice to use the stakes, or fill the pouches with sand. We opted to use the stakes, but filling the pouches was more secure method at the beach.There was enough space for 3 to 4 of us to lay out on it. I don't recall it getting hot to the touch even out in the Aruba sun.Folding up can be interesting lol,but if in a rush just fold as best you can and stuff it in the bag. It can be sorted n refolded better later.I recommend this product
